Why Indigo?

The word community gets used a lot, and sometimes its meaning gets lost. It isn’t just a collection of houses. When it comes to community, people want the real thing. They want to feel connected to each other, to the land they cultivate, and to what supports their well-being—physical, social, emotional, financial, spiritual, and beyond.

Indigo is a place to enjoy these connections, and nowhere else even comes close.

Full Bellied Living

Okay, but what exactly does
“full bellied living” mean?

Why Indigo

Dive into the thinking behind the design of Indigo—a place for people—and the connected community lifestyle that’s possible when development is intentional. Scott and Clayton of Meristem Communities paint a picture of a day in the life, and get personal about some of their reasons for creating this place.

Our Humanifesto

On purpose.
In color.
By hand.
With heart.
From seeds.
For all.
At home.
Be Indigo.

Our community started as the dream of two farmers who wanted to build a place that puts people first. A place designed for humans—not cars, capital, or corporations. We want our neighborhoods to be neighborly. Small businesses from around Fort Bend can find fertile ground here, a place to open shop and expand. We envisioned Indigo to have conveniences that make your life easier, and to have spaces and events that bring happiness and meaning to your everyday.
